For the kids there is always Grön Lund and Skansen.
Gröna Lund is the fair ground on the island of Djurgården and Skansen is the outdoor museum just opposite.
 
To get to Djurgården take the boat from Nybrokajen or Slussen, the tram from Stockholm city or the bus from the city. These trips take about 5-10 minuters.

Also close to Skansen and Grön Lund you will find Junibacken. This is an adventure park based on Astrid Lindgren's figures (Pippi Longstocking, Emil etc.)
